Nvidia Shares Reach All-Time High Ahead of GTC and Earnings

Key Insights

  • Nvidia’s share price climbed to a record peak amid a broader rally in AI equities.
  • The company prepares to host its annual GTC conference later this month.
  • Major technology corporations are scheduled to release their quarterly financial results.

Nvidia shares scaled new heights, extending a robust recovery from a July low of $189.60. NVDA reached $237.27, pushing its valuation past the $5.72 trillion mark. Investors are now weighing whether this upward momentum will persist ahead of the upcoming GTC conference.

Nvidia GTC Event is Coming Up

The equity rally gained momentum as investors digested weaker-than-expected US nonfarm payrolls (NFP) figures. The data revealed that the economy added only 29,000 jobs, while unemployment ticked up from 4.1% in August to 4.2% in September.

Coupled with declining diesel prices, this employment report suggests the Federal Reserve will feel no immediate pressure to aggressively raise interest rates—an environment that historically benefits technology stocks.

The next major milestone for Nvidia will be its GTC conference later this month, widely considered a premier technology industry gathering that unites developers, AI researchers, and tech firms.

Market participants will closely monitor remarks from CEO Jensen Huang regarding the firm and the broader sector. Historically, Nvidia shares experience notable movement during GTC as the company frequently uses the platform to introduce new hardware and software.

Big-Tech Earnings are Coming Up

Upcoming earnings reports from major technology players represent another critical catalyst. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world’s leading chip fabricator, will report earnings on October 15. Because TSMC manufactures chips for Nvidia, its top client, these results serve as a vital indicator for the entire semiconductor sector.

Additionally, advanced lithography equipment maker ASML is set to release financials on October 14, acting as another key benchmark for the artificial intelligence industry.

Crucially, Nvidia’s largest customers will also step up to the earnings plate. Alphabet (Google) reports on October 20, followed by Tesla the next day, and Meta Platforms, Microsoft, and Amazon reporting a week later.

These reports are heavily scrutinized for capital expenditure figures. Continued heavy spending by these corporate giants signals sustained demand for Nvidia’s hardware ahead of Nvidia’s own earnings report in November.

These disclosures will help clarify whether Nvidia’s rapid expansion is sustainable. Analysts currently project a 91% surge in quarterly revenue, bringing total revenue past $109 billion.

Nvidia Stock Price Technical Analysis

On the daily timeframe, NVDA previously peaked near $236 before fading. The share price subsequently pulled back to establish a double-bottom pattern—a recognized bullish reversal indicator—with troughs at $189.66 and a neckline at $213.

Following a bullish breakout on August 5 and two subsequent retests of that threshold, the stock has pushed past its previous $236 record, signaling strong buyer control. Meanwhile, the Average Directional Index (ADX) has risen to 16 and trends upward, indicating building momentum.

Consequently, the stock appears positioned for further upside toward the psychological $250 resistance level, with a break above that threshold potentially clearing a path toward $300.
