Following a robust performance that pushed its valuation to $3 trillion last week, the digital asset market has encountered selling pressure. Investors are keeping a close eye on upcoming U.S. macroeconomic indicators, including PCE inflation and employment reports. Concurrently, gold and silver prices have retreated to seven-week lows. Bitcoin is currently holding above $83,000, while major altcoins such as Ethereum, XRP, BNB, and Solana have declined between 2% and 5%.
Crypto Market Will Closely Watch Macro Events
After reaching a $3 trillion market capitalization last week, the crypto sector is gearing up for an active week of American economic releases, which will feature updates on job openings, inflation, overall economic growth, and employment data.
U.S. JOLTS job openings figures are scheduled for release on Tuesday, September 29. Core PCE inflation and GDP statistics will follow the next day, and the non-farm payroll report will be issued later in the week on Friday, October 2.
Additionally, the yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury has climbed 48 basis points over the month to 5.23%, marking its highest point since 2007. September is presently on track to record its largest monthly jump since April 2024.
Coin Bureau noted that this yield sits just 5 basis points shy of its 2007 peak. Should it break past that threshold, it would be on path to reach levels not seen since 2002.
The U.S. Federal Reserve suspended purchases of Treasury bills in December 2025, leaving its balance sheet approximately $209 billion higher over that timeframe. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant has signaled a willingness to potentially restart these purchases.
Bitcoin Price Eyes Bullish Retest At $82,000
Prominent cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez observed that Bitcoin has broken out of a double-bottom formation, steering BTC toward neckline support at $82,000.
According to Martinez, if this price floor holds, the retest could offer a favorable entry point for buyers. He suggests that the $100,000 price target for Bitcoin could be reached as early as the end of October.
Crypto analyst Crypto Patel emphasized that a daily close for Bitcoin above $82,500 is crucial to monitor. Such a close confirms a higher-timeframe change of character (CHoCH) following the breakout from its previous lower-high and lower-low pattern. BTC subsequently advanced to $87,368, though Patel pointed out that a new higher high is not yet confirmed.
Patel mentioned that Bitcoin has encountered resistance within the $90,585–$84,694 bearish order block and fair value gap zone. His higher-timeframe bullish perspective stays intact as long as BTC preserves its upward market structure.
Altcoins: Ethereum To Have Best September Closing
Alongside Bitcoin, the broader altcoin sector has demonstrated resilience throughout the past month. Ethereum has spearheaded these gains with a 10% monthly increase, accompanied by larger advances from XRP, SOL, ZEC, HYPE, and DOGE.
With an 11.6% rise so far this month, Ethereum is tracking toward its strongest September since 2016. This performance would represent only the fourth positive September for the asset in the last ten years. With three days left in the month, ETH still has the chance to lock in this milestone.

Analyst Michael van de Poppe remarked that current market volatility could spark a corrective phase, leading him to increase his cash holdings slightly at present. Even so, Poppe anticipates that any downturn will remain relatively mild and give way to a rebound as the fourth quarter unfolds, reinforcing his bullish outlook for Q4.
