Circle shares have bounced back strongly from their mid-September trough as market participants evaluate early traction on the firm’s newly debuted Arc Layer 1 blockchain.
CRCL finished trading on Sept. 21 at roughly $94.49, marking a 2.95% daily gain. The equity has rebounded about 21% from its Sept. 16 intraday low of $78.26, though it continues to trade below the peaks above $100 seen earlier in the month.
Concurrently, Arc has amassed more than $348 million in decentralized-finance TVL and nearly $630 million in stablecoins following its public mainnet rollout on Sept. 16.
Circle Stock Watches Arc TVL Jump Above $348M
Circle Internet Group marked a major milestone last week by deploying Arc, its layer-1 network. The company aims for Arc to disrupt the market by competing directly with established chains such as Ethereum and Solana.
Early indicators suggest the network is experiencing robust adoption. Figures compiled by DeFi Llama reveal that the blockchain boasts a total value locked (TVL) exceeding $347 million, with Morpho Blue, Aave V4, Uniswap, and Aerodrome Finance driving the majority of dApp activity.
Arc’s TVL now surpasses that of several legacy crypto networks, including Cardano, Berachain, and Algorand, some of which have operated for nearly a decade.
Additionally, statistics indicate Arc is emerging as a significant force in the stablecoin sector, aligning with Circle’s strategic goals. Its stablecoin market capitalization has surged past $628 million, establishing it among the leading chains in the space.
Decentralized exchange activity on the network is also expanding, adding over $471 million in assets since inception, led by Uniswap, Aerodrome, and Sushi.
Arc’s expansion mirrors trends observed in other prominent networks, such as Coinbase’s Base and, more recently, the rapidly scaling Robinhood Chain.
From a financial standpoint, Arc will not immediately drive significant revenue for Circle, generating under $100,000 since its debut last week. However, the firm may eventually introduce an ARC token to reward investors who contributed $200 million earlier in the year.
USDC Growth is Continuing
Circle stock has also responded to the steady expansion of USD Coin. Reports show the stablecoin’s market capitalization stands above $74 billion, climbing modestly from a recent low of $71 billion.
This expanding USDC market cap is significant because it paves the way for higher revenue generation over time, particularly amid a backdrop of rising U.S. bond yields.
Current metrics indicate the five-year yield has climbed to 5%, while the 30-year yield reached 5.30%. Meanwhile, the five-year and 3-month yields advanced to 4.8% and 4.1%, respectively. These rates are critical since Circle derives the bulk of its income by placing its USDC reserves into the bond market.
Analyst sentiment toward Circle stock remains relatively cautious. Goldman Sachs analyst James Yaro recently reaffirmed an underperform rating on the firm, Darrin Peller of Wolfe Research maintained an underperform stance, and Morgan Stanley downgraded its rating to underweight while lowering its price target from $38 to $37.
Circle Stock Price Technical Analysis
The daily chart indicates that CRCL stock has maintained stability over recent months, climbing from an August low of $59.30 to the current $94.50 level. A closer examination reveals the stock has ticked above its 50-day moving average, signaling an effort by bulls to retake control.
Furthermore, the equity is trading above the ascending trendline connecting its lowest swing points since August. Consequently, the path of least resistance points upward, with the next major threshold to monitor situated at $120.
