Circle Stock Outlook After Arc L1 TVL Surpasses $500M

Key Insights

  • Circle stock has pulled back and formed a diamond reversal pattern.
  • Arc, its new layer-1 platform, has crossed the $500 million TVL milestone.
  • The US government bond yields have continued rising this month.

Circle shares have drifted downward from their August peaks, despite benefiting from multiple favorable catalysts such as a recovering USDC market capitalization, higher US Treasury yields, and the steady expansion of Arc, its layer-1 network. CRCL recently changed hands at $89, marking a decrease from last month’s peak of $102.

Circle Stock Has Retreated Despite Arc Layer 1 Growth

CRCL shares continue to face downward pressure even though its newly introduced layer-1 network, Arc, has been well-received since its September 16 debut.

External data indicates that the network is gaining significant momentum among developers and investors alike. Notably, the count of decentralized applications (dApps) operating within the ecosystem has climbed to 59.

Total value locked (TVL) across the ecosystem has advanced past $500 million. Leading participants in this growth include Morpho Blue, Aave, Uniswap, Aerodrome, Argus World, and Archery, pointing toward rising user engagement. This TVL figure has already exceeded the metrics of well-known crypto networks like Cardano, IOTA, Algorand, and EOS.

Simultaneously, stablecoin balances residing on the network remain robust, totaling over $458 million—predominantly made up of USDC and EURC. This aligns with Circle’s original design for the network, which focuses on tokenizing real-world assets.

Significantly, market participants are actively utilizing the network’s dApps for trading. Decentralized exchanges on Arc have already processed over $839 million in trading volume, a metric that could cross $1 billion this week. Furthermore, ecosystem dApps have generated upwards of $7.2 million in fees since inception.

Arc’s trajectory parallels the success of Robinhood Chain, the layer-2 network introduced by Robinhood several months ago, which has steadily expanded to command billions in assets.

Circle Internet is Benefiting From High Bond Yields

In parallel, Circle Internet Group continues to gain advantages from current conditions in the bond market. Figures indicate that the 10-year yield climbed to 5.24%, marking a multi-year high, while the 30-year and 5-year yields increased to 5.5% and 5.06%, respectively.

For Circle specifically, the 3-month yield has moved up to 4.19%. This metric is vital because the organization earns revenue by placing its stablecoin reserves into short-term government bonds. Under the GENIUS Act, such companies are barred from allocating funds into alternative assets like corporate debt, gold, or Bitcoin.

These climbing yields coincide with an expanding USDC market capitalization, which has surpassed $75 billion. Should current inbound flows persist, this total is projected to breach the $80 billion threshold in upcoming months.

A primary driver behind this expansion is a recently established partnership with Binance that has proven fruitful. Data from CoinMarketCap highlights Binance as the most active platform for USDC trading activity.

Consequently, these underlying dynamics suggest that Circle’s operational performance may remain strong throughout the year. Consensus estimates project third-quarter revenue to reach $786 million, representing a 6.3% year-over-year increase. Annual revenue is projected to grow by 9.5% this year, followed by an additional 24% expansion next year.

Circle Stock Technical Analysis

From a technical standpoint, however, Circle shares display some signs of vulnerability. The equity has carved out a diamond reversal pattern—a formation frequently recognized as a bullish reversal signal in technical analysis. Additionally, the stock is nearing the closure of a price gap established in August of this year.

A bearish divergence pattern has likewise developed, characterized by falling readings on the Relative Strength Index (MACD and RSI) while the underlying security moves upward. Because of these indicators, there remains a distinct possibility that the stock could slide toward $78, which marked its low point on September 16.
