BitMine shares climbed on Monday following a breakout in Ethereum past $2,700, alongside announcements regarding an additional expansion of the company’s ETH treasury.
Trading for BMNR reached about $27.45 during premarket hours, marking an increase of roughly 5.7% relative to Friday’s close at $25.99. Meanwhile, Ethereum changed hands near $2,730, registering a 24-hour gain of about 6%.
Additionally, the firm reported that its total Ethereum reserves reached 5.98 million tokens. As of September 20, BitMine evaluated its combined holdings in digital assets, cash reserves, marketable securities, and other investments at $17.1 billion.
BitMine Dollar Cost Averaging Strategy Has Worked Well
Led by Tom Lee, BitMine has executed one of the most successful dollar-cost averaging (DCA) approaches in corporate history. DCA involves an investor steadily deploying capital to accumulate an asset over time, even during market downturns, often serving as a preferred alternative to single lump-sum purchases.
Having commenced its Ethereum accumulation in July of last year, BitMine has since acquired more than 5.983 million coins. Purchases have continued on a weekly basis, persisting even as prices dipped to $1,500 during July of this year.

The primary advantage of a DCA strategy is its ability to enhance returns when prices subsequently recover. Consequently, tokens accumulated by BitMine during the pullback to $1,500 have appreciated by 81% as the asset climbed past $2,700.
BitMine is now closing in on its objective to control 6% of the circulating Ethereum supply. Assuming a circulating total of 6 million coins for this calculation, the firm needs to acquire a remaining 16,000 tokens.
Ethereum Price Has Broken Out
The ongoing upward momentum in BMNR stock stems from a decisive technical breakout in Ethereum. On September 6, the asset formed a golden cross when its 50-day moving average crossed above the 200-day moving average.
In the time since, the cryptocurrency has traced a bullish flag pattern, defined by a vertical trend line followed by a horizontal channel—a setup that frequently precedes further appreciation.
The token has now surpassed the upper boundary of this flag formation, confirming the breakout. It has also successfully breached the critical $2,460 resistance mark, which previously stood as its peak on April 16 of this year.
These technical indicators point toward additional room for growth. Should this trajectory persist, the asset could target the next major resistance at $3,000. Surpassing that threshold would open the door toward $3,380, matching the highs recorded in December of last year and January of the current year. Reaching that level would elevate the market value of BitMine’s Ethereum holdings beyond $20 billion.
BitMine Revenue to Jump if ETH Holds Gains
The ongoing recovery in Ethereum matters significantly to BitMine for two primary reasons. First, it enhances the valuation of its massive ETH holdings, strengthening its balance sheet as the largest corporate holder.
Second, the price rally drives continuous revenue growth. Unlike Michael Saylor’s Strategy, BitMine generates income by staking its Ethereum reserves, capturing an annual yield of approximately 2.7%.
The enterprise is on track to reach its threshold of 6 million ETH holdings this week. Presuming the staking yield remains at 2.7% over the subsequent 12 months, the company stands to generate 162,000 coins in revenue.
Furthermore, if Ethereum averages $3,000 throughout this timeframe, that revenue would equate to $486 million.
BitMine Stock Has Crossed a Key Resistance
The daily chart illustrates that BMNR stock has completed a bullish breakout, advancing above the vital $27.17 resistance level that had contained the price since August, which marked the upper boundary of its bullish flag formation.
Additionally, the equity is nearing a golden cross as the 50-day and 200-day moving averages stand at $21.60 and $22.52, respectively. A confirmed crossover could trigger further gains, potentially pushing the price to $30 and beyond.
