Investor attention remains fixed on Bitcoin’s price trajectory, with the asset climbing another 1.6% over the past few hours following signs of a cooling U.S. PCE inflation rate. Large Bitcoin holders have commenced aggressive accumulation, snapping up over 41,000 BTC in the span of ten days. Meanwhile, spot Bitcoin ETFs have staged an impressive recovery, bouncing back from negative $5 billion in July to a positive $1 billion balance.
Whales Support Bitcoin Price Action Accumulating 41,025 BTC
Following the rallies in late August and September, Bitcoin has successfully maintained a firm position around the $85,000 mark, bolstered by consistent, strong accumulation from whale entities.
Data from Santiment indicates that wallets holding anywhere from 10 to 10,000 BTC gathered 41,025 BTC across a 10-day period. Consequently, these large investors have boosted their combined holdings to 13.64 million BTC, representing 67.93% of the total circulating supply.
The analytics provider noted that these significant market participants—referred to as whales and sharks—have attained their highest inventory levels since the mid-August rally. Historically, Bitcoin and the wider cryptocurrency market tend to exhibit stronger performance during phases marked by such accumulation.
In contrast, smaller wallets holding under 0.01 BTC have stayed largely unchanged, pointing to a currently flat level of retail participation. This noticeable divergence between the behavior of Bitcoin whales and retail investors is a metric worth monitoring.
Bitcoin Price Prediction: BTC Put Options Drop After PCE Inflation Data
CoinGecko figures show that Bitcoin rose 2% over the trailing 24 hours, reclaiming positions above $85,000. This upward push arrives as August U.S. PCE inflation data indicates a cooling trend.
Headline PCE inflation slowed to 3.4% over the past month, coming in underneath the 3.7% anticipated by the market. Core PCE inflation similarly undershot forecasts, printing at 3.0% compared to expectations of 3.3%.
Furthermore, both headline and core PCE figures for July were revised downward by 30 basis points. In light of this information, expectations for an October interest rate hike have diminished. The broader shift in market conditions has propelled Bitcoin and the rest of the cryptocurrency sector upward within the last several hours.
Crypto analyst CW observed that bearish positioning within the BTC options market has relaxed as the asset stages a rebound. CW points out that call options currently maintain an advantage extending through the end of the year, adding that the influence of the options market is now nearly equal to that of the futures market.
Analysts at 10x Research highlighted that Bitcoin could experience a robust upward surge during October. The firm entered August anticipating that the month would confirm the establishment of Bitcoin’s bear-market low, as its internal cycle indicator signaled that the market was primed for a sharp upward move.
According to 10x Research, Bitcoin surged after the August 19 report that U.S. federal debt surpassed $40 trillion, touching $80,000 within a week before pulling back to $76,000 over worries regarding a hawkish Federal Reserve.
Even so, Bitcoin rebounded to $86,000 within a week following Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s hints at a more accommodating future monetary policy. 10x Research remarked that Bitcoin typically experiences rapid movements when catalysts arise rather than advancing gradually, emphasizing that October has historically been a month brimming with catalysts.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs Show Strong Recovery
As reported by the Kobeissi Letter, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $2.4 billion in net inflows during the week ending September 25, marking the highest weekly intake since October 2025. These inflows pushed year-to-date net flows to $1 billion, successfully erasing the $5 billion in cumulative outflows seen at the close of July.
These investment vehicles absorbed another $66.2 million on September 29, extending their unbroken streak of inflows to nine sessions. BlackRock’s IBIT paced the field with $51.1 million in inflows, followed closely by ARK 21Shares’ ARKB at $33.2 million, while Bitwise’s BITB registered $18.1 million in outflows.
